Fly Tied by and Photo taken by Charlie Wilson

FISHING METHOD:  This pattern was found on Fly Fish BC.
The original tier was Johnk. This is basically a Baby Bugger and a variation of Denny Richards Stillwater Nymph.
It is best tied with sparse hackle which is why  the hackle is stripped on one side. Fish this pattern as a Bugger.

 Hook  Size 10 – 12 Tiemco 200R or Teck Twin NFC300
Thread  8/0 Color to match ( I use UTC #70 to finish and 3/0 for the loop.
 Tail  Medium Olive Marabou
Hackle

Burnt Orange Grizzly ( Can be dyed with Kool Aid )

 Body

 Medium Olive Sparkle Dubbing

 Bead

 #8 Orange Silver Lined Ceramic ( 3mm )

NOTE: Can be tied with Light, Dark, or Brown Olive. Match Marabou Color. I talked to John and he has good success with Root Beer Dubbing and Marabou with orange bead and orange hackle. A very easy tie

TYING NOTES:

  1. Slip bead onto hook.
  2. Lay down a thread base on the shank of the hook.
  3. Tie the Marabou tail in. 1 shank length long. Make sure you cover the shank with the Marabou. acts as a underbody.
  4. Select a hackle. Pull down on hackles to fan out. Remove one side of the hackles. Tie in the tip end.
  5. Form a dubbing loop at the bend and apply the dubbing. Wind forward with a slight taper. Tie off behind bead.
  6. Wind the hackle forward. Make sure the hackles are pointing back.
When you reach the bead wrap the hackle 3 extra turns right behind the bead. Secure the hackle.
  7. Whip finish and glue behind the bead.
