FISHING METHOD :Floating line with 10 -16 Ft leader. Use the count down method to get the fly just off the bottom. Use a slow to medium retrieve (4 - 8 inch steady strips) with a several quick 2 - 3 inch pulls every 30 - 40 seconds. Use the same retrieve for sinking lines. Try using this fly on the shoals during the evening.

TYING NOTES:
First pinch your barb, then lay a thread base down.
Add the weight to body, secure it with tying thread.
Tie in the chenille for the body. Wrap the chenille up the shank of the hook, stopping 2/3 of the way up.
Cement two pieces of partridge (1/8 - 1/4 inch in width and 2/3 the shank of the hook).
Tie in the wings to the side of the abdomen, and pull downward.
Tie in the wing case, and dub the thorax.
I tie in the legs at this time. Pull the wing case forward, remember to leave enough room for a small thread head.
Whip finish and cement the head of the fly.
I tied in the legs first, then tied off the wing case. This secures the legs a little better than reversing these two steps.
