TYING NOTES: Pinch the barb down. Slide the cone and the bead onto the hook. Lay a thread base down on the shank. Build the thread up behind the bead to hold the bead and cone straight. Attach the tail and run the thread forward. Form a dubbing loop, apply the dubbing and twist. Run the dubbing back to the bend of the hook and then back to the front. The body should be plump. Rake out the dubbing so it will move in the water. Attach the wing material with four pieces of Pearl Flashabou on each side. Use 1 piece per side (fold to make four pieces). Twist a small amount of dubbing and wrap to cover the thread behind the bead. Whip finish and glue. |
