FISHING METHOD: Floating line with 10 -18 Ft leader. Use a strike indicator to help keep your fly at the feeding depth. Use a slow retrieve (6 - 8 seconds for each hand twist) with a couple 2 - 3 inch pulls every 25 - 30 seconds. You can also use a sinking line. Cast out and wait till the line is straight before you use the above retrieve.

Hook  Curved shrimp hook size 10 - 16
 Thread  6/0 Olive - (Danville’s - light olive)
 Bead  Gold bead 3/32
 Ribbing  Gold wire - fine
Body  Super floss - Caddis green

TYING NOTES:

  1.  First pinch your barb down, slide the bead on the shank of the hook.

  2. Tie in the thread base.

  3. Tie in the ribbing material the length of the hook.

  4. Tie in the body material behind the bead. Stretch the super floss as you secure it to the hook shank with tying thread. Wrap the body forward to the bead and tie off.

  5. Counter wrap the rib 1 - 2 turns around the butt, then forward (5 - 7 wraps) and tie off.

  6. Whip finish the fly.

I received this pattern from Brian Chan several years ago. It is a good pattern to try when the fish are feeding on glass worms. You can tie this fly with a brown body or a caddis green body. Try ether version in a clear lake (White lake, Roche, and Lac Des Roche) and in the summer months.
