FISHING METHOD:
I have fished this
pattern with both floating and sinking lines. In shallow water, use a slow
pull retrieve with several short 2 to 4 inch pulls every 15-20 seconds. On
sinking lines let the fly sink near the bottom before you start your
retrieve. I use a 3 to 4 second full hand twist with several 2 to 6 inch
pulls to retrieve the fly. Try trolling this fly with a sinking line.

TYING NOTES:
- Pinch your barb down on the hook.
- Lay down a thread base on the shank of the hook.
- Tie in the several fibers for the tail.
- Wind crystal chenille up
the hook shank, stopping 1/8 inch from the eye of the hook.
- Tie off the body
material.
- Tie in the pheasant rump feathers by the tip and
give 3 turns.
- Build a small head by
wrapping over some of the hackle fibers.
- Whip finish and cement the
head of fly.
