This is not the picture of my fly; this is one I found, as I cannot take real great pictures. This is a searching pattern.

 Hook

 8

 Thread

 Black

 Tail

 Golden pheasant tippet

 Body

Peacock herl front and back with red floss in middle

 Hackle/Wing

Wing is white deer hair, hackle is a brown dry hackle

TYING NOTES:

1.       Pinch barb, and tie on thread

2.       Put about 10 fibers of golden pheasant tail

3.       Attach 3 strands of herl and wrap part way up shank,

4.       Then attach the red floss and do a small section of floss

5.       Then attach more herl and go ¾ of the way up the shank (3/4 is the total body length)

6.       Put on about 10 strands of white deer hair, or calf

7.       Then put on the brown hackle.
