The Kalamalka Fly Fishers donates more than $1250 annually to conservation and
education programs in the North Okanagan.

The club raises this money in three ways:

Annual Rod Raffle.

The Kalamalka Fly Fishers
Introductory
Fly Tying Course.

This is an ideal course for beginners or people who would
like a refresher or upgrade. Fly construction will be emphasized along with
fly fishing methods, presentation and aquatic entomology.

3.
The Kalamalka Fly Fishers Introductory Fly Casting
|
|

This is an introductory course in fly fishing and fly casting. The course
covers equipment, knots, finding fish, local entomology and casting.
Course early each spring. The
last class is held at a local lake to test student's knowledge

4.
KING FISHER SOCIETY

The Kalamalka Fly Fishers donate
$750.00 annually to the King Fisher Society. They teach the students about
the Shushwap River Salmon and what part they play in the ecosystem. The
students collect eggs and take them back to their schools for further
study. The fry are released in the spring to continue on their cycle of
life. |
